I'm now using Unity 3.8.12-0ubuntu. I keep installing all new updates, so I don't know what version of Unity I had at the time I created the bug report. Since the bug report I have also installed the AMD ATI Catalyst drivers, so not sure if that helped the issue.... Anyway, I just tried and now I too can't reproduce the bug. So maybe this bug report can be closed for now. I guess some or other update must have fixed the problem.
