** Description changed:
KDE's network connection manager is finding the Huawei modem but rarely
succeeds in making a connection. See the attached image. It goes from
'preparing to connect' to 'not connected' It sometimes gets as far as asking
for the PIN code. If it is finding the modem, then it should also be able to
connect.
