Sometimes the exposé view is totally unnecessary. For example if you have two small skype windows open and they don't even overlap each other it would be better if clicking on the launcher would just bring both windows on top.
And I think it would be better to be able to cycle through multiple instances of the same application just by clicking on the launcher. It would be also faster because the exposé view is slow. The exposé view is only useful if the are many instances of the same application.
