This bug also affects me (reason=3 in syslog), and I can confirm that switching form DHCP to manual IP assignment (on the same router/network!) prevents disconnection. However the following still happens:
If I disconnect in software for some other reason (mostly when I lot out or log in back, or sometimes when I need to switch off the wifi- router for some reason), I need to manually switch off the wireless (I usually use the "hardware switch" on my sony vaio) before I can connect back. Otherwise network manager icon just keeps suggesting that it is connecting, and it never gets form (that is, I keep see that rotating icon, but never gets to the signal icon). PS: I am using Natty. Do I have to file a separate bug report or this one does the job? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/548992 Title: Wireless connection frequently drops [deauthenticating by local choice (reason=3)] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/548992/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
