This bug also affects me (reason=3 in syslog), and I can confirm that
switching form DHCP to manual IP assignment (on the same
router/network!) prevents disconnection. However the following still
happens:

If I disconnect in software for some other reason (mostly when I lot
out or log in back, or sometimes when I need to switch off the wifi-
router for some reason), I need to manually switch off the wireless (I
usually use the "hardware switch" on my sony vaio) before I can connect
back. Otherwise network manager icon just keeps suggesting that it is
connecting, and it never gets form (that is, I keep see that rotating
icon, but never gets to the signal icon).

PS: I am using Natty. Do I have to file a separate bug report or this
one does the job?
