The system is completely up to date. I am not sure which driver I am
using, below is the output of lspci -v if that helps. The card and
driver work with WICD but not Network Manager. So I believe it to be a
Network Manager problem not a driver problem. As I said in my earlier
post network manager has on 5 different computers and set ups running
various Ubuntu versions never worked for me (except recently on 10.04),
in all cases installing WICD and uninstalling Network Manager solves the
problem. What seems suspiscious is WICD can not make a connection if
Network manager is installed, even if NM is not running. Would it help
if i install network manager and connect by wired connection and run the
bug command you suggested?
