Writing in gedit now in order to test if I get logged out offline. I've ran Memtest on Oneiric which passed. Natty doesn't log out to tty, tested with Unity wall enabled, but not with Compiz cube, since I wanted to upgrade right away.
My assumption was that Compiz with enabled cube was the culprit. So after upgrading to Oneiric I left Unity wall and start to trigger the logout by writing with gedit and pastebin, no logout occured.***22:42 logout to tty*** Enabled Compiz cube, disabled wall and static switcher. Aside that it disrupts the sc ***22:51 logout to tty***, the screen (bug reports alread ***22:56 logout to tty*** exist), I rebooted. Logout isn't working because lightdm doesn't appear, just a blank screen. ## Proceed writing from desktop pc, otherwise I'll never be able to finish this comment. With enabled cube I start writing again in gedit and pastebin which logged me out to tty. Reboot didn't bring back a working desktop, so I've managed from tty to remove config files, reset gconf and got back Unity wall. To be sure also issued dpkg-reconfigure to Unity and Compiz. Happy about the observation that enabling cube triggered the logout I wanted to report here. But instead, after few lines of writing it logged out to tty again, while on Launchpad or in gedit, that's what I've marked with *** above. I'm unable to write longer text, no matter where and running out of ideas. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/796313 Title: Random logout to tty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/796313/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
