Changing the status to "Fix Released" and marking a lot of bugs (about exactly the opposite desired behaviour) as duplicates without any comment is very bad practice... Where is the ayatana-design decision documented? Coming from bug 668196 this decision seems to contradict the consensus there, see for example Mark Shuttleworth's comment[1]: "Yes, the non-menu portion of the panel should be treated like the maximised window titlebar."
