After the latest update (but not necessarily strictly/immediately; ie, I haven't tried in some weeks), including backports:
I just booted with my external plugged in. gdm (or whatever it is) came up perfectly. I logged in under Unity, and the external came up in the right place, working more or less as it should: no black / invisible areas, no crash, etc. That is, the bug appears fixed. Other subscribers, can you confirm?
