Public bug reported:

colortail segfaults if it reads a line greater than 1024 characters in
length.

This is less than ideal :)

It's fixed in newer versions. Is there any reason this couldn't be moved
into lucid?

(from the changelog of the maintainer)
Fixed stupid off by one error in TailFile.cc that caused a segfault if a line
in the tailed file was longer that 1024 characters.

Segfault!
