Try clicking, right-click or left-click just to the right of that. On my
panel, there is a small space between that icon and the items to the
right. That space is where I click to do things to the timer. In
previous versions, I could click the bar itself, but that no longer has
any effect. I suppose that is why I think it works, but I guess it is
hidden if you have used the timer before.

I will confirm this issue, too. It really should work to click directly
on the icon, instead of alongside it.
