Public bug reported: Since upgrading to Feisty my wireless connection is temperamental to say the least. It even manages to crash my wireless router (a Vigor 2500w) if I download for more than about 5 seconds. If I just browse web pages then it is ok but downloading files (e.g. Ubuntu updates or any file that takes more than about 5 seconds) causes the router to go into a weird state.
When I look at the router status through its web interface it shows that the connection is broken and the router is no longer able to connect to the internet provider. I then have to turn it off and then back on again to get it to work. I'm sure this is not a fault with the router as we use a Windows laptop and download large files no problem. Also if I boot with the dapper CD there is no problem either. It only happens with my Feisty installation. I notice that the signal in the task bar applet drops right off and goes red. The light for the wireless card then flickers and comes back on again. At this point my router is already hosed. It means that Feisty cannot be used to download files from the net wire Centrino wireless so this is quite a big problem I guess (unless other routers manage to stay up but with my router something Feisty does causes it to go into la la land). ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Intel pro wireless crashes wireless router in Feisty (worked perfectly in previous versions) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/109890 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
