Thanks. The lxc package in ppa:serge-hallyn/lxc-natty, with the source at https://code.launchpad.net/~serge-hallyn/ubuntu/oneiric/lxc/update-templates has the rest of the fix, which just amounted to puttings 'lxc.arch' in the config.
