Public bug reported: Whenever I check "Keep In Launcher" for an app, it is not persisted when I log out and in again. Also, the clock in the top right, which used to be 24h clock, is now a 21h AM/PM clock and I cannot change it back.
The reason I mention both these symptoms is because I think they may have the same root cause: I recently installed and uninstalled Gnome3 desktop (according to the instructions on http://www.ubuntugeek.com/how- to-install-gnome3-on-ubuntu-11-04-nattyubuntu-10-10-maverick.html). I started noticing both these issues afterwards. System: Ubuntu Linux 11.04, 32-bit pae/64-bit, NVidia Steps to reproduce: - Install/uninstall Gnome3 according to the instructions on http://www.ubuntugeek.com/how-to-install-gnome3-on-ubuntu-11-04-nattyubuntu-10-10-maverick.html - Additionally to purging the ppa, make sure to clean up configuration leftovers (via Synaptic, find all obsolete packages with lingering configuration and do "completely remove..." for them, or perform the necessary command-line wizardry to achieve the same) - Login and start an app (eg. Google Chrome) - Do "Keep In Launcher" for the app - Log out and back in Expected: - The "Google Chrome" shortcut is still in the launcher What actually happens: - The launcher panel reverted to its defaults, the Google Chrome shortcut is gone. Chrome is just an example, in fact it happens for all apps ** Affects: unity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/801570 Title: "Keep in launcher" is not persisted upon logout/login To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/801570/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
