I'm using Natty 64Bit on a Dell Inspiron 6400 and according to lspci my card reader is
i used the config file from #7 (John), recompiled my kernel with the option "CONFIG_MMC_RICOH_MMC" disabled (sorry i cant find where i got that from) and ran "sudo update-initramfs -u" as suggested by #28 (timba).
