Hi, I can confirm some problems with the X-FI USB 5.1. When I play a sound file mixed up to 5.1 and want to watch a flash video simultaneously the sound becomes distorted. If I play the file only in stereo it's ok. I researched a bit and found out, that my X-Fi USB is only recognized as a USB 1.1 device. Changing USB ports didn't work.
Dmesg delivers me the following message: cannot submit datapipe for urb 0, error -28: not enough bandwidth I'am using a Thinkpad R61i with an Intel 965 express chipset. The problem exists in Ubuntu Natty 64 Bit and the 2.6.38 kernel and Ubuntu Oneiric 64 Bit with the 3.0 kernel. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/798795 Title: [USB-Audio - SB X-Fi Surround 5.1, playback] Sound is distorted To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/798795/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
