I just tested the patches linked, on ubuntu-kernel natty tip (Ubuntu-2.6.38-10.44, cefe94dc5d171940edd23081d9d481dc1ed5824b). The two patches from gregkh's tree do indeed fix the xhci controller, and the gmane patch at http://article.gmane.org/gmane.linux.usb.general/48323 (suitably adapted for the version of xhci in the ubuntu tree) fixes suspend.
