Same for me: Ubuntu 10.10, 11.04, latest kernels - no luck. Even though with all sort of "model=" lines.
Searching on the net others have the same problem with MSI GX700, too: "I have the same problem on ubuntu 11.04 (32bit). I managed to figure out what is going on. both left and right channels are outputted on the internal laptop subwoofer. [..] for me the same thing happens in windows with it's default driver. I guess it's got to be some weird sound card configuration." That's why the sound is so silent and distorted. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/677082 Title: [MSI MSI CR720] No sound on left speaker and very low sound To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/677082/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
