Just want to +1 this bug so it is confirmed it is a real problem. Installed Ubuntu 11.04 64bit on my new laptop today and ran into this. The mousepointer was just spinning and spinning and I couldn't select either back or forward to get away from the screen. Luckily I was at home and could look up this bug on my stationary computer.
Turned of the laptop, restarted and it tried to boot on my HD instead of my Ubuntu-install-USB. This made the computer hang with a cursor blinking in the upper left corner. I had to enter the BIOS and rearrange the boot-order to get the installation going again, this time avoiding the keyboard and only using the touchpad to navigate. Install completed ok after that. It's not a MAJOR bug, but I hope it's a quick little thing to fix. People shouldn't need to go into BIOS and muck around. It's just not perfectly userfriendly ;-) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/772535 Title: Keyboard layout chooser freezes during ubuntu installation To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/772535/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
