sorry for the delay in responding .... since then I did 2 things 1: I got round the problem by keying in IP address and port (ex: 1( 21.168.0.40:631) .... this fixed the issue 2: I have since then I have rebuilt the Laptop in order to do a dual boot with Windows Vista .... and had no trouble with the reload of Ubuntu
