Confirmed, seems like a pretty serious usability issue for those who use
this option. I think this bug can be considered of Low importance since
the affected functionality is quite specific and not the standard
configuration for Thunderbird.

Hi,
Sorting the email "By Sort" (i.e. by some date) does not work properly
with the Unified Inbox folder. When I do:
- - Go to Unified/Inbox, set View->Sort By->Gropuped By Sort.
- - Expand all by Ctrl-All
+ - Go to Unified/Inbox, set View->Sort By->Gropuped By Sort.
+ - Expand all by Ctrl-A
- Navigate to another folder
- Go back to the Unified Inbox
At the last step, TB should remember that all the 'threads' had been
expanded. Instead, they're all collapsed, which is inconsistent with the
way it works with all other individual folders. IMHO, this makes this
option unusable, as I have to expand the thread *every time*. This
problem occurs in all Unified Folders. Individual account folders work
as expected, i.e., they remember whether the thread was collapsed or
not.
