Public bug reported:
This is a test installation on my Thinkpad that I use to play with the
development release. So far, the path was a stock 11.04 installation
that was upgraded to Oneiric (rather than a straight Oneiric
installation).
I just updated the system, and it's been a while since the last time I
messed with it... the last update was 470+ packages.
After rebooting, I noticed that all of the icons in the Launcher, other
than the pager, the file finder and the app finder (and trash can) have
disappeared. My original launcher prior to this latest update contained
a launcher for Firefox, mozilla, terminal, and a couple of LibreOffice
apps.
Now, if you notice in the screenshot below, those are all gone. In
fact, the only icon there, that empty silver colored square, only
appeared after I launched Terminal from the app lens.
So essentially, an update to the system deleted all the icons I had in
the Launcher prior to the update. :(
