I've got the same problem : when I close the laptop it stops fine and when I
open it up a moment later, more than one time over two, the network (WiFi) is
deactivated.
When I do a sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart, messages tells me the device
is currently busy etc.

I have to close / open / close / open until the network is up by itself.

I uninstalled network-manager and now, I don't have this kind of problem
after closing the laptop.
