I still have the same problem with another distrib (Archlinux), which recently upgraded to alsa 1.0.14rc3. Since this isn't ubuntu specific, it's probably not the right place to talk about it. So this is an alsa issue, not a sdl mixer one? Has it been reported in alsa bugzilla ?
