Hi ! Is there any news on this ? I've got the same issue with a Lacie 1TB USB drive. Dmesg shows a disconnect after 1 second. The drive does not appear in lsusb or as in /dev/disk. I' using Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS on 2.6.32-32-generic.
