The new alsa-hda-dkms works for me, as it is no longer necessary to turn on EAPD @ 0x1b at every reboot.
Both speakers and internal mic work; mic's quality is still bad, but it is usable. I wonder if this is a hardware problem (it shouldn't be). The bad news is that headphones do not work anymore: plugging them in, the speakers will be muted, but i will get no sound from the headphones either. I could not try any external mic so far. Thanks for the work, a patch already included in the new kernels would be lovely! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/783582 Title: [Aspire 3830TG, Conexant ID 506c, Speaker, Internal] No sound at all To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/783582/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
