Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. In order to proceed, we need 
some more information from anyone who experiences this problem:
 * Is there less or more than 15 seconds of inactivity prevalent before the 
switch to textmode?
 * What are the contents of /etc/fstab for the system(s) experiencing this 
issue?

(Btw, this is not a duplicate of #38303 since #38303 is only applicable
when complete scans/checks are performed)

   no visible indication that a long-running fsck is taking place in background
