Thanks for the feedback.  I think when they were telling people how to
test for that bug they should have given a little better warnings.  In
this case you forced your system into a non-standard configuration and
this problem is a consequence of that.  This is not something that would
happen in normal use.  If you haven't, reinstall python-qt:

sudo apt-get install python-qt3

Note that the bug is rejected because of the non-standard configuration.
