Following some questions in an AskUbuntu Question I posted (http://askubuntu.com/questions/51983/unable-to-install- boot-11-04-on-a-thinkpad-l520), I have discovered that any of these boot options get the installer working: acpi=off, noapic & nolapic.
>From a brief googling, I am worried about using acpi=off as it apparently stops the fan from turning on? What do these options do, and what downsides/issues will I encounter if I use them? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/806434 Title: Unable to install 11.04 amd64 on a ThinkPad L520 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/806434/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
