*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 588539 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/588539
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, I am closing it because the bug has been fixed
in the latest development version of Ubuntu - Oneiric Ocelot. See bug
588539 for more details.
For those of you still running Ubuntu 10.04, there's an update coming
for checkbox which addresses bug 553328 and could mitigate somewhat the
faulty behavior you reported, you can test it by enabling the proposed
source and updating checkbox. See here for instructions:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed
Also, you can wait a few days so the update makes its way to official
updates, then Update Manager will offer to install it.
If you have a critical need for the fix for bug 588539 to be
"backported" to previous versions of Ubuntu, please do steps 1 and 2 of
the SRU Procedure [1] to bring the need to a developer's attention, or
let me know so I can put the fix through the SRU procedure.
