Thanks Brendan. Odd, but I don't experience Bug #804330.
Running nautilus a second time again via gksudo only outputs those few lines. 
But still takes a long time until the wheel stops spinning.
$ gksudo nautilus
Initializing nautilus-gdu extension
** (nautilus:4878): DEBUG: Syncdaemon not running, waiting for it to start in 
NameOwnerChanged
glibtop: Non-standard uts for running kernel:
release 3.0-3-generic=3.0.0 gives version code 196608
Shutting down nautilus-gdu extension
