Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and trying to help make
Ubuntu better.

I need to mark this bug as invalid, because lingot is working fine in
the latest stable version of Ubuntu (11.04, which ships lingot 0.8.1),
as well as the latest development version (Oneiric Ocelot, which at the
moment has lingot 0.9.0). If at all possible, I'd encourage you to try
more recent versions where hopefully the software will work as expected.

However, should it not be possible or desirable for you to upgrade,
here's a workaround I found that might work for you, though be aware
that I haven't tested it since I don't have a 10.04 installation handy.

It looks like lingot is using the old /dev/dsp interface, as provided by
the OSS audio interface. However, this is not supported directly in
Ubuntu which uses PulseAudio and ALSA.

A possible workaround is for you to run lingot with the padsp wrapper
which provides the old interface for compatibility, run this in a
terminal:

padsp lingot

Thanks for your report!
