Unless I'm misreading the original bug report, this same issue is giving me trouble in Natty.
First of all, Maverick and Natty detect the ALPS Glidepoint as a PS/2 Mouse. By default, tapping is enabled. Unfortunately, the touchpad is too finicky and this results in random clicks every time I try to type or to drag using the touchpad, or something brushes against the touchpad. The driver reports tapping as button1 clicks so the only way to disable tapping is to disable the entire touchpad. I have a keyboard shortcut to disable the touchpad at need, but I find that the touchpad re-enables itself at inopportune moments, and re-enables itself any time I have to resume after the computer suspends. Also, I don't have a desk, so it is awkward to use external mice with my laptop. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/375860 Title: Alps touchpad re-enables tap-to-click on resync To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/375860/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
