I have just made another test on fresh feisty installation form ubuntu-7.04-desktop-i386 live-cd.
By default my eth0 network interface is set to dhcp. After changing it to static with NetworkManager applet and filling in ip, network and gateway I can see "Changing interface configuration" message, but ifconfig shows no ip for eth0, route shows exactly nothing (no route defined). Only /etc/network/interfaces file is being updated correctly. If in this situation I change eth0 back to dhcp and one more time to static configuration everything starts to work correctly (ifconfig and route give proper output) Adding DNS server with NetworkManager creates correct resolv.conf file every time. -- [feisty] static configuration of wired network connection in NetworkManager dosen't work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/110233 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
