Step by step.... well this will be quite hard... The only thing, these situations and computers have the same, is the high load of CPU, sometimes GPU, RAM and also may be a big amount of data writing on HDD. It does for example when I untar a really BIG files, or when I start a more demanding game (for example on netbook) etc... simply when the computer has to use all of its sources to do the task. These computers are for example: Laptops: Lenovo Y550P - 4 cores i7, 4GB DDR, NVIDIA GPU ACER Aspire One - AMD K125, 2GB DDR, ATI GPU ACER Aspire 5930g - C2D, 4GB, NVIDIA GPU IT does also on 2 desktops I have at home. It does in KDE and also in GNOME.
