See bug #783389 if you have the problem with Natty. A fix is available.
You need to install all updates. On a fresh Natty install update before
connecting the printer for the first time. If the printer is already
connected, update and then run

hp-plugin -i

once to clean the mess of the bug which is fixed with the update.
