thanks for reporting this. It seems to be a known issue that has already
been reported as bug 108166. Since the error occurred during an upgrade
I have reassigned the bug against update-manager. Is the output above
the full contents of /var/log/dist-upgrade? If not it would help to
diagnose the problem if you could attach the log files from that
directory. There should be three files: main.log, apt.log and term.log.
