Good luck with that Mikael, but I don't hold out much hope. I tried to fix something in the clock applet, reported the lack of make/install working as Bug #596869 and was eventually told to "try moving that discussion to the answer tracker or some user mailinglist" which I did, and got absolutely no help at all :(
