A possible workaround is to use equivs to have a "fake" cupsys package which will satisfy the old dependency:
sudo apt-get install equivs cd /tmp equivs-control cupsys sed -i '/^Package:/ s/.*/Package: cupsys/' cupsys equivs-build cupsys sudo dpkg -i cupsys_1.0_all.deb Now you should be able to install the old driver. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/799442 Title: Canon's printer driver package tries to pull in "cupsys-common" package by dependencies To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cupsys/+bug/799442/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
