There is not a separate DNS server, although I believe the router handles that function. (Belkin F5D5230-4) It certainly provides the DHCP for the local network.
The /etc/resolv.conf has: [code]nameserver 192.168.2.5 nameserver 192.168.2.1[/code] I'm sure these values were 'discovered' by the OS - I certainly never assigned them. My set-up worked fine with Windows XP and even some Apple notebooks, as well as a couple of Windows XP laptops.
