I found a work-around in setting 'QT_IM_MODULE=simple', for example in /etc/environment. Then dead keys work in every qt3 (but not qt4) based application with the sole exeption that " followed by space gives an \ instead of ".
Regardless, in KDE's lineedit widgets the input method must be set to "Simple Composing Input Method", otherwise dead keys do not work in these widgets. -- Qt breaks dead keys https://launchpad.net/bugs/56794 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
