I check on the status of this bug #804051 today and noticed is says
"Incomplete" under the status. Is there something I need to add to the
bug report to change the status to something other than incomplete? I
have looked at a number of posts that describe the same condition. It
appears that some have given up and tried a different sound card or have
abandoned Ubuntu in favor of MS Windows that works. I would really like
to use just Ubuntu but I need to keep windows around so that I can boot
it first and then warm boot to Ubuntu to make the sound work. I bet the
windows folks are laughing about this one.

I would like to try the solution documented at the beginning of this bug
report but I don't know what is required and the steps for doing so.

If someone is looking at this bug an update to this bug would be nice.

Thank You
