@François in a new file /etc/modprobe.d/cardreader-firewire.conf (the file name is an example, choose what you want), add these instructions
options firewire-ohci quirks=0x10 (the module doesn't want the debug parameter on my e6520/natty 64bits) Then launch sudo update-initramfs -u reboot and it should be ok.
