Public bug reported:

Applied updates, including kernel update; on reboot on this hardware,
system started with no ethernet interfaces (ie: no networking).
Attempted loading 2.6.32-33 provided e1000 and e1000e drivers seperately
with modprobe, but neither seems to result in an eth interface being
available. Board (Intel DP55WG) is about a year old. No problem with
2.6.32-32-generic, problem seems to be isolated to specific hardware
combinations as it did not affect my other real and virtual lucid
workstations and servers.
