This bug still exists in Ubuntu 11.04. When 11.04 is installed from scratch, it places swap on a crypted partition by default (at least on a laptop), as per /etc/fstab:
/dev/mapper/cryptswap1 none swap sw 0 0 When Hibernate option is used, the computer suspends to that swap area. After we boot again, previously saved sessions are lost. This is a serious, grave bug: - possible data loss, - unpleasant experience for users, where competing operating systems don't suffer from such a grave misdesign. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/98680 Title: re-encrypted swap partition causes data loss upon hibernation To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/hal/+bug/98680/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
