xdiagnose 0.3 (or thereabouts) switches the apport gpu hook from using
the intel dumper tool (which has this memory allocation bug in certain
cases) to copying the kernel gpu file directly. That won't be subject
to memory allocation errors, thus this bug should no longer occur.
