It is not uncommon to use a different language than the official language(s) in your current country. Especially english on server installations, since you don't get many hits if you search for a Norwegian error message on Google. Or you may live in another country for some time, and want the operating system display in your language, but use the local currency/time/date/number/etc.
This is not a problem on other operating systems, like Windows and OS X, so please fix this in Ubuntu as well in the next version or in an update. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/759534 Title: Allow selecting a different $LC_MESSAGES and $LANG To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/localechooser/+bug/759534/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
