Richard, Sorry to hear you also have this problem. This issue has reportedly been fixed in CUPS 1.5 per http://www.cups.org/str.php?L3417. The CUPS 1.5 RC1 is available from www.cups.org, however I did not have much luck installing it. Perhaps you will have better luck. At the moment I am just waiting for this to get pushed down stream.
