Still have the issue, on a Thinkpad T61p with an Nvidia Quadro FX 570M same as evan, sometimes(very rarely) it shuts down fine but most of the time it hangs, It seems like the shutdown sequence stops after killing X . If it works, my GUI shuts down I get some output on what is being shut down/stopped/killed until the machine shuts off, when it doesnt work the screen goes black and it just sits there, even the wifi light is still blinking though I cannot ssh in or use any keyboard shortcuts to switch TTY or reboot
