I found the solution to my problem! When I opened the Alsa Mixer I noticed on the "switches" tab an option: Audigy Analo/Digital Output jack. In my case it was enabled. As soon as I unchecked this option the sound started working!
In any case I have attached the requested TXT files (before I changed this option). I have simply numbered the txt files corresponding with the 7 points shown here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/DebuggingSoundProblems. I hope this information helps.
