I've just discovered that when connected to my wireless LAN, my Android phone is unable to connect using it's 'talk' (Google Talk) program. This leads me to suspect that the browser-based talk session connects in a different way to these chat clients. I may have a firewall configuration issue with my modem/router.
Having said that, it would be very helpful if empathy: 1. Eventually timed out 2. Gave the user a helpful error message, or told them where to look at a log. Right now empathy just keeps trying with no user feedback whatever. I'll try to find the resolution to the problem, but I still consider this a bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/814370 Title: empathy appears to continually sign in to google talk - never succeeds To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/empathy/+bug/814370/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
